Windows of the Tower of the Mihrab
The Tower of the Mihrab (Torre del Mihrab) stands to the right of the Ladies Tower
. Inside there is an oratory for the people who lived in the palace next to it. In 1932 it recovered its original appearance after a not very appropriate restoration in the 19th century.
The façade, with a horseshoe arch in the middle, still has some remains of the decorative plasterwork. The inside chamber is divided into two sections (one bigger than the other) by a semicircular arch. The mihrab's ceiling is made of assembled pieces, very much like the ones of the African mosques. The following inscription is written on its horseshoe arch: "Be not neglectful, come ye to pray".
